What time is Check-in?

At Outer Banks Blue, our guests can gain access to the homes between the hours of 4 and 6pm on day of check-in. At this time your keyless entry code will activate to allow access into the home. Please do not attempt to check-in with your keyless entry code prior to check-in, as it can cause problems with the Keyless entry lock.

What is Early Arrival?

The total fee of $150 plus tax applies whether or not the reservation group arrives by the designated 1:00pm access time. Services such as Pool and Spa cleaning, Maintenance and Housekeeping along with any unforeseen circumstances may not be completed prior to arrival. Early Arrival pertains to your entry of the ground level of the property at 1:00pm on your check-in day, it is not full check-in access to the property. Early Arrival cannot be guaranteed and the fee will be refunded if the home is completely unavailable.

Are linens provided at my vacation home?

Outer Banks Blue provides bed and bath linens to you at no additional cost, to all of our guests. This is a savings of $300-$500 per week to our guests. We ask that you bring your beach towels and please our bath towels are not permitted to be used for the pool or beach. We also like to remind those bringing their dogs, to bring that special towel your dog loves from home as well! We use a laundering company handles our laundry services, and your laundry is especially packaged until it is opened and your beds are made just for you prior to your check-in.

We provide 1 bath towel & wash cloth per advertised occupant in the home, 2 hand towels per bathroom, kitchen towels & hot pads

What are the address and/or phone number for our vacation home?

Upon making the reservation, we require that you sign the lease and make your down payment to confirm a reservation. The rental agreement lists this information, as well as the website on the Google map information. We also send this information to you as part of your “Check-in by mail (and email) as well as check-out and sail! You may also contact our office for this information.

Local Calls: There is no charge for local calls. It is not necessary to dial the (252) area code. Long Distance Calls: All homes (unless otherwise advertised) have a long distance block. Options for placing long distance calls include calling cards, pre-paid phone cards and collect calls.

What are the standard amenities with Outer Banks Blue homes?

Can I use FIREWORKS or FIREARMS at my vacation home?

***No firearms or fireworks are allowed on the premises.***

Leasholder is financially responsible for damage done to the property beyond normal wear and tear. Outer Banks Blue reserves the right to run a credit card authorization to cover any damages to the propery. You will be notified of any excessive cleaning charges or damages made and the amount that will be charged to your credit card IF necessary.

Can I leave my beach items on the beach overnight?

No, they must be taken in daily. Please remove your personal & rental items each day from the beach, not to be left over night. Outer Banks Blue is not responsible for any personal or rental items left on the beach over night. Outer Banks beaches are enforcing a new policy in 2013 to permanently remove items left on the beach overnight, not to be recovered.

How do I make a reservation?

You may call one of our friendly Reservations agents, 8am-7pm, Saturday-Thursday, and 8am-5pm Friday at 1-888-623-2583 for assistance. We would be delighted to answer any questions that you may have. When do pools, hot tubs & fireplaces open & close?

Hot tubs are closed from January 1, 2013 until March 2, 2013. Hot tubs are available starting March 2, 2013 and ending January 1, 2014. Heated pools are available from April 13, 2013 until June 1, 2013, and again from Sept. 7, 2013, until Oct. 12, 2013. Pool temperatures vary and degree of warmth cannot be guaranteed. Occasionally, some pools in Dare & Currituck Counties may experience a mild ground current. Generally, this is not caused by a pool defect or the household electrical system, but appears as a result of the earth’s own natural electrical current. Certain properties may be affected more than others and the current tends to be intermittent in nature. Please be advised, however, that this may affect the operation of pace makers and other similar devices; Gas fireplaces are shut down from May 25, 2013, until Sept. 14, 2013.

What is a “Blue Ribbon” Outer Banks Blue home?

An Outer Banks Blue, “Blue Ribbon” home is distinctive in that they are our most popular homes, and our guests enjoy a higher level of services as a standard with these homes.
Among Blue Ribbon Service Property extras include:
- Daily newspaper delivery to your door (Memorial Day-Labor Day) at no additional charge
- Customized high quality welcome bag for your convenience at no additional charge
- Dedicated cleaner to the property to ensure top quality cleaning at no additional charge

Are floor plans available for Outer Banks Blue homes?

Outer Banks Blue provides an informative layout of each level of the home. The description includes the number of bedrooms, and the types of bedding in each bedroom, and this begins with Top Level and goes down in description to the Ground level

What is Keyless entry?

Outer Banks Blue provides keyless entry into our homes using a keyless entry lock system. The codes are generated specifically for the guest, the particular home and week of vacation. This code activates at 4pm (standard) on day of check-in and 10am on day of check-out.

Am I allowed to park an RV or Camper at an Outer Banks Blue home?

Campers, RVs and Mobile Units are not permitted in any community and may not be parked at the home.

Can I bring my pet to an Outer Banks Blue home?

Outer Banks Blue knows how special it is to bring your “best friend” or “extended family” with you on vacation! We have specific “Dog Friendly Homes” that are labeled as this on the web page for the home under amenities. We have a 2 dog limit and do not permit dogs in our pools. Please remember to bring your own doggy beach towels!

*Dogs are welcome in pet-friendly homes at no additional cost to the guest*

Do we clean upon check-out?

Outer Banks Blue has dedicated cleaning crews to clean each vacation home prior to the check-out of our guests. We want you to leave as relaxed as the day you checked into the home you selected. We send the laundry off to a laundering company and there is no need to wash the bed or bath linens, nor remove the bed linens from the beds.

What are check-out procedures with Outer Banks Blue?

Remove all food from the refrigerator and leave the temperature setting at medium. Place all trash in exterior cans. Load and unload the dishwashers. Close and lock all windows and doors. Set thermostat to 75 degrees for AC or 55 degrees for heat. Tidy up outside including the decks, yard and pool area, if applicable. Keyless entry homes do not need to come to our office for check-out, but entry codes will expire at 10:00 am.
