Outer Banks Blue Realty Services is a family owned and operated vacation rental management, property management, and real estate services company operated in Kitty Hawk, NC. Founded in June, 2005 the basis of the company is competent personalized service by experienced professionals.
Today's Outer Banks rental guest wants assurances of service, quality of product, and ease of doing business.
Communications should be done at the convenience and on the terms of the customer. Electronic communication is convenient, but doesn't replace the need to pick up the phone and talk. Outer Banks Blue will be there when clients and customers call, and return calls promptly. We live by the Sundown rule (every call followed up on by the end of the day), and we communicate on the terms of the client/customer. We are open 7 days per week, and have extended reservations department operating hours.
Housekeeping is the single most important aspect of maintaining a vacation rental property. A house that is poorly cleaned presents a bad first impression and subliminally tells the guest that the owner and management firm don't care about the presentation of the product that the customer has purchased. Outer Banks Blue's management team started in the business many years ago and had done everything from cleaning kitchens and bathrooms to making beds, to cleaning hot tubs. They know the importance of getting it right the first time, and ensuring that owners and guests are satisfied. Meeting expectations is what guest satisfaction is all about, and housekeeping is the single biggest factor in the guest's first impression.
Rental guests want to feel special. They are trying to unpack 51 weeks of hard work into one memorable getaway to the Outer Banks. Outer Banks Blue will do all that we can in our communication to ensure that our guests understand their importance to us. Telephone calls are placed to our guests one week in advance of arrival, to assure receipt of all check-in information via email, as well as passes required by mail due to community requirements. E-mail follow up will be prompt (same day). Linens will be a standard amenity in all Outer Banks Blue properties and will include sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, and kitchen linen. Guests shouldn't have to worry about the extra expense and worry of equipping their rental property with linens given the pricing of today's vacation rental properties. There is no extra or hidden charges involved with this service. Guests will be met with an arrival package at the property which properly welcomes them to their getaway. Starter supplies of soap, paper products, and other items will postpone their inevitable trip to the grocery store for a few hours, and allow them to relax sooner.

One of the unique operating philosophies of Outer Banks Blue Realty Services is our check-in option. Outer Banks Blue has keyless entry into the properties and will email the check-in information to guests for them to check-in. No more stopping at the office, or worrying about getting stuck in traffic before the office closes to pick up the keys.

The vision of Outer Banks Blue was developed by Tim Cafferty in 2005 after over 25 years in property management on the Outer Banks. With experience in both a smaller, family operated company that evolved into a leader on the Outer Banks in occupancy numbers and technology under his expertise and in the management of a nationally recognized, publicly owned corporation boasting the largest inventory of homes on the Outer Banks his vision of a more personalized management opportunity developed into the conception of Outer Banks Blue Real Estate Services.
Mr. Cafferty's experience and reputation in the area for attention to detail and integrity along with a team of experienced and dedicated personnel has already brought Outer Banks Blue into the forefront of rental companies in our first year. With an original goal of 50 homes surpassed in two months with over 100 homes, it became very clear it would be necessary to promote this vision with a dedication to our clients for responsible growth, and a dedication to our customers with quality homes. Therefore, the decision was made very early to be selective in the properties and areas we represent. We now represent over 200 homes and have remained consistent and successful in our mission of exemplary service and rental activity for our valued clients.
Our Management Program offers an "inclusive" service package at a competitive management fee. This management fee includes not only cleaning after guests, but deep cleaning, carpet cleaning and other specialized services required to properly maintain homes of the caliber we represent. All homes offer high quality bed, bath and kitchen linens at one low cost to the homeowners (no restocking fees).
In addition to the traditional rental management program, Outer Banks Blue offers services for homeowners that do not wish to rent their homes. We have customized management packages for owners that wish to use their homes strictly as family homes. We can provide cleaning, maintenance and linen services for clients that only open their homes for family and friends, or offer the home for a limited period to the public.
The combination of personalized services for homeowners and customers, a professional and knowledgeable staff, and a commitment to exceeding expectations rather than remaining with the status quo have been instrumental in the success Outer Banks Blue and the properties we represent .
