Dorian tracking Northeast
A mandatory evacuation order and a state of emergency continue for all of the Outer Banks. All guests in residence have evacuated, and many residents have left the area as well in advance of the arrival of Hurricane Dorian.
We continue to make final preparations here at Outer Banks Blue. The office is open for the majority of the day today, but once heavy rain and winds arrive the office will close. We expect the office to remain closed on Friday (9/6/19).
Guests who have a planned arrival for Thursday (9/5/19), Friday (9/6/19), Saturday (9/7/19) or Sunday (9/8/19) should not plan on coming to the Outer Banks until the mandatory evacuation order is lifted, and you hear from us that your property is undamaged, and ready for your arrival.
Local officials have indicated the storm’s track may take a slight track north of the previous estimates, which, if true would take the storm just south of Nags Head and bring significant impact to the Outer Banks.
No one will be allowed on the Outer Banks unless and until the mandatory evacuation order is lifted. We look forward to welcoming you all once conditions are safe and preparations of your property can be completed.
Thank you for your patience during this very exceptional situation. We are sure you understand the gravity of the situation and that our number one concern must be for the safety of our guests, employees and properties.
The next update will be in place here on Friday morning.
