Jumpin’ for Joy – Memory Monday 7/1/19

Greetings from a sunny and warm Outer Banks! This week’s Memory Monday photo submission is entitled Jumpin’ for joy, and that is what we are doing this holiday week!

Jockey’s Ridge

This week’s picture, submitted by Ann Patterson of Cabot, Pennsylvania, was taken as the group was at Jockey’s ridge state park in Nags Head. The largest living sand dune on the east coast is enough to make anyone start jumpin’ as you come down the hill and gain momentum. It is a great place to not only drive by, but stop, climb and run down while you are in town!

Jumpin
1, 2, 3, JUMP!!!

As you can see Jockey’s ridge is also a great place to fly a kite. or watch a spectacular sunset over the Roanoke Sound.

This week of course is the week that includes Independence day, and we always look forward to the fireworks along the beaches in Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Avon, and on the waterfront in Manteo.

If you are in town for the holiday each of the fireworks displays get started at approximately 9 PM.

Everyone be safe, wear sunscreen, and enjoy the holiday week!

All the best from the beach!
