Labor Day! - Memory Monday 9/3/18

So does anyone know where summer went?   It is hard to believe this beautiful morning on the OBX is actually Labor day!  It seems like yesterday that we were anticipating Memorial day and the start of summer, and now things are winding down already.Soon enough the temps will be cooling down, all of our summer employees will head back to where they came from, and life on the OBX will be peaceful and quiet again.  However this is a good time to look back on this summer. This summer has been one of the hottest on record, and the beach has been a popular place.  It didn't seem to be the busiest summer in history (it was hot though) because one could venture out to a restaurant without a reservation and find a table, the roads didn't seem quite as busy, and there were very few traffic back ups.  Did we mention that it was hot?  Phew, it was hot.   July and August were among the hottest months in history on the OBX in fact.   July was also really, really wet.  We went 19 days in a row with some sort of rainfall.  Crazy!   But the beaches were great, and our visitors seemed to have a wonderful time no matter what weather challenges we had this year.We will miss summer 2018, but we are also looking forward to turning off the air conditioner soon and enjoying some cooler temperatures on the beach. So, this weeks Memory Monday is a great shot that was provided to us by Debbie Clark-Vickers.   She and her family stayed with Outer Banks Blue just a few weeks ago and she sent in today's photo.   This is the 4th family trip for them, and we just love the t-shirts.Even the 2 dogs got into the act![caption id="attachment_2853" align="alignnone" width="324"]Labor day memories Family Picture![/caption]Thanks Debbie for sharing your family photo with us.  What a great memory this will be for your group for many years to come!So Happy Labor day everyone.  We hope you have an enjoyable time with family, friends, or whomever you wish to be with.   We look forward to having you join us on the Outer Banks soon. All the best from the beach!
