Post Hurricane Irene Update #2 (8/29/11 3 PM)

Staged Re-Entry in process

At noon today (11/29) visitors who wish to enter Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head were be permitted back on the Outer Banks.

Access to Duck, Corolla, and Hatteras Island is still prohibited at this time.

Roadblocks preventing access to Corolla and the Duck area will be taken down at 10 AM on Tuesday morning (11/30). Please be aware that this does not mean that your rental property will be cleaned and ready for a 10 AM arrival however!

Outer Banks Blue has inspected each property and is in the process of readying each house for guest arrival at this time. There is some damage at our properties that will prevent specific guests from arrving and we are making arrangements for those guests.

We will be calling all arriving guests to advise of your property’s situation.

If your property has not suffered any damage you will be receiving a call from us to advise when the house is ready for your occupancy.

Arriving guests should be aware that there may be some items in the property that are not “perfect” for their arrival such as exterior furniture arranged properly, pools may not be completely free of sand and leaves yet, trash cans may not be placed at the road for pickup, or for instance all linens may not be in place upon arrival. OBX Blue is working hard with dozens of workers in the field trying to ready each property to the best of our ability.

Please understand that unless you receive a call from Outer Banks Blue that your property has not been thoroughly cleaned and verified that no damage exists at the home.

Your patience and understanding is appreciated during this time.

Again to re-iterate there is no access permitted at any property in Duck or Corolla at this time. The road block will be lifted tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at 10 AM but this does not mean that your house will be ready for your arrival at that time.

Please expect a call from one of our staff to advise you about your property’s situation.
