Memory Monday Submission 12/3/12

Hot tub fun!

This week’s Memory Monday photo submission comes to us from Bob Evers of Horseheads, New York who stayed with Outer Banks Blue this past August in the property “Cara-Lina” in the Ocean Hill subdivision of Corolla.  Bob shares this cute photo of his grandkids enjoying the hot tub. Smile or thumbs up (or both) if you are having a good time!
Bob tells us that the kids have been coming to the Outer Banks all of their lives!  “We started coming to the OBX in the early 90s – just my wife and three kids back then.  Spouses and grandchildren followed so the party has grown year by year.  While we do all the typical things folks do in Duck and Corolla: Lighthouse climbing, Ponies, etc. most of our week is spent around the pool or at the beach enjoying the family.” Sounds like a perfect Outer Banks vacation to us! Thanks for the Memories Bob! All the best from the beach!

Our Trip to Jockey’s Ridge

This week’s Memory Monday photo submission comes to us from Pamela Butler of Smithville, Pennsylvania who stayed with Outer Banks Bluein June at the property “Moonstruck” on the oceanfront in NagsHead.  Instead of photos of the ocean or the kids playing on the beach Pamela has shared with us a very popular location on the Outer Banks that we do not have many pictures of – Jockey’s Ridge State Park! These pictures of Pamela and her family enjoying Jockey’s Ridge reminds us of the many, many different activities there are to enjoy here on the Outer Banks.  Jockey’s ridge state park contains the tallest living sand dune on the east coast.  The park covers 426 acres and the tallest point rises more than 100 feet above sea level.  Scientists believe Jockey’s ridge was created at the end of the last ice age some 12,000 years ago and the park has more than 39 million tons of sand for visitors to enjoy. The sunsets from the top of the ridge are epic, and the park also is home to the largest hang gliding school in the world (Kitty Hawk Kites). The Butler clan enjoyed climbing Jockey’s ridge before heading over to Manteo on Roanoke Island where they had dinner at Big Al’s Soda Fountain and Grill.   That’s where the picture of the Butler kids was taken in the oversized lounge chair. Thanks Pamela for sharing your photo memories.  We look forward to serving you again! All the best from the beach!

Ride the GO-CARTS on the Outer Banks in Kill Devil Hills

You can go zoom zoom & put the pedal to the metal and not worry about blue lights behind you at a Go-cart track on the Outer Banks! One of the many things you see families doing together while on vacation is going to ride the Go-carts. Each kid hopes they are tall enough this year to ride alone and without their parents. There are tracks in Corolla, Kill Devil Hills, & Nags Head. The Go-cart track just a few miles down Collington Road has 3 tracks. One track is for children 4-6 years old, with another track is the Family track where children can ride with the family or race in a single cart, and the last track is the FAST Adult track and no children are allowed. It’s a fun way to beat the heat and enjoy the beach once the sun goes down! Call Outer Banks Blue for details on where to go by your vacation home 877 248 4823!  READ MORE

As Tanya would say “Thumbs up” for an Outer Banks Blue vacation! All the best from the beach! READ MORE

Spring Time in the Outer Banks

“Easter vacation time is one of the first times we notice life coming back to the Outer Banks after a winter escape for many visitors. The flowers begin to bloom, the sun brings life to the brown earth and we see new green leaves sprouting on our trees again. Many people love to come to Duck, because of the fact that they are able to walk to many of the shops and attractions. Just a quick stop today on the way to Corolla, to show you life begins again on the Outer Banks of NC.”
“Visit Duck the next trip you make to stay with Outer Banks Blue, and we look forward to seeing your video!” READ MORE
