We greet you on this fabulous Monday giving thanks for a great day on the Outer Banks with full electric power, and a beach bustling with happy vacationers. Although the northern Outer Banks was largely unaffected by the power outage that cripled Hatteras Island and Ocracoke last week, we were empathetic to our neighbors to the south that were effectively out of business for a week. We are all back to normal now, and this week’s Memory Monday photo gives us an image of one of the great things to do as a family during a vacation to the Outer Banks – Pick crabs!
Perkins’ Vacay: Memory Monday July 24, 2017.
Good Monday morning. It is a fabulous beginning to the week here on the Outer Banks with the temperatures in the 90’s few clouds, and a calm ocean to greet us all on this special ribbon on land off of North Carolina. We share with you today Perkins family vacation photos on our Memory Monday photo submission.

Greetings from the Outer Banks! This rainy Monday on the Outer Banks is not starting out as a great beach day, but we have had so many great beach days this summer we can’t complain too much. This week’s Memory Monday photo submission comes to us from Tina Macleay of Fredericksburg, Virginia who stayed with Outer Banks Blue the week of July 4th at the vacation rental property Majestic Palm in Nags Head, and provides to us this Patriotic Baby.

Happy Independence Day!: Memory Monday July 4, 2016.

Happy Independence Day!
It is a beautiful 4th of July here on the Outer Banks as everyone is set to celebrate the 240th birthday of the USA today with a trip to Duck this morning to watch the 4th of July Duck Parade, followed by a dip in the ocean, then of course cooking out at their vacation rental, and then tonight watching fireworks from one of several locations around the Outer Banks (Whalehead Club in Corolla, Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head Pier in Nags Head, in Shallowbag Bay in Manteo on Roanoke Island, and in Avon off of the pier there on Hatteras Island. Although it is a bit farther south than our area, we are also glad to report that Ocracoke Island has a fireworks display this year for the first time since 2009 when a tragic accident occurred during the set up of the display. That reminds us to remind you that individual use of fireworks is generally illegal in North Carolina. This includes firecrackers, fireworks that spin on the ground, roman candles, bottle rockets, and any aerial fireworks that explode. Leave the pyrotechnic displays up to the professionals and stay safe this year.

Kicking Back at The Beach!
This week’s Memory Monday Photo Submission comes to us from Carlene Cearley of Cary, North Carolina who is a long time rental guest of Outer Banks Blue and particularly an annual visitor to the vacation renal property “Heaven Sent” in Nags Head. Some days there is just nothing better than a nice cup of your favorite beverage on the deck and then taking a walk on Jockey’s Ridge a litter later in the day. Today is one of those days!
