Greetings from a crisp and breezy Outer Banks on this Monday morning. March has definitely rolled in like a lion here on the beach with cool temperatures and brisk overnight breezes. Definitely not a day to kick back and enjoy the beach from a favorite chair. READ MORE

Here Comes The Sun – Memory Monday 10.8.18

Here comes the sun
Good Monday morning from the Outer Banks.   As this post is being published the sun is rising over the Atlantic ocean and we have yet another unbelievably beautiful day in store on the beach.  As the song by the Beatles says “Here comes the sun, and I say – its alright!”

That is what comes to mind as well when we take a look at this week’s Memory Monday photo submission which comes to use from Beverly Casey of Sanford, North Carolina who got away to the beach and stayed in “Shades of Blue” in Kill Devil Hills two weeks ago and send us this photo taken from the deck off of the master bedroom one morning.

There is an old saying on the coast “Red sky in the morning – sailor’s warning,” but that was not the case for Beverly and her family as they enjoyed a wonderful week at the beach.   Lots of family fun and as she told us in her message attached to this picture “we loved our Kill Devil Hills oceanfront rental.”

This picture reminds us to tell you that you too can enjoy this sort of picture yourself because this is the same deck that hosts our company webcam!

Take a look now at what is happening on the Kill Devil Hills oceanfront by clicking here.  The camera is located on the same deck where this photo was taken.

We want to thank Beverly for her photo submission and let her know she is welcome back any time as you and your family are as well.   The weather looks good for another few weeks, and we have some great off season pricing available so give us a look today!

When you do come to the beach don’t forget to send us your photo memories just like Beverly did so you can see them right here on Memory Monday!

All the best from the beach.

OBX Sunrise – Memory Monty 5/7/18

OBX Sunrise
Good Monday morning from the beautiful Outer Banks.   It is once again time for Memory Monday here at Everything Outer Banks and this morning we get a photo from a guest that stayed with us just two weeks ago and snapped this early morning photo.  We are calling it OBX Sunrise.

Special thanks goes to Bob and Sandy Taylor who stayed with Outer Banks Blue at one of our most popular properties in Kill Devil Hills – “Shades of Blue.”

Shades of Blue is an oceanfront property just south of the Avalon Fishing Pier.  At just 3 bedrooms, it is a rare find on the oceanfront as so many properties are much larger these days.  It is also rare in that it accepts dogs to stay with you at no extra charge.   Add that to comfortable furnishings, and the fact it is well maintained folks definitely like to reserve this property.

Summer is fast approaching.  It seems like just yesterday we were talking about Easter coming, and now we see Memorial Day weekend – the unofficial start to the summer season will be here in just a few weeks.   Have you made your summer vacation plans yet?

Outer Banks Blue still has some great affordable vacation opportunities for you and your family for this summer.  Check out our specials page to see several properties that have special promotional pricing for June weeks, and of course there are still some sporadic openings in July and August throughout our inventory of fine properties.    Regardless, we encourage you to make a decision soon as we expect summer 2018 to be very busy here on the beautiful OBX.

Special thank again to Mr. and Mrs. Taylor of Langhorne, Pennsylvania who submitted this weeks photo.  We look forward to seeing and serving you again soon.

All the best from the beach!

Moon rise – Memory Monday 11/20/17

This week’s Memory Monday photo submission is a bit of a different twist.   Instead of the typical sunrise over the ocean, today we bring you a moon rise.

Brought to us by Trish Diachenko of Timberville, Maryland who stayed with Outer Banks Blue recently at the Kill Devil Hills vacation rental “Shades of Blue” brings us this picture that definitely puts a twist on the normal shot one would expect of a sun rising over the ocean.

As you can see with some careful vision this sphere is not the sun rising, but rather the full moon rise coming up over the ocean during they early evening.  Pretty cool!

What a peaceful looking scene.

Thanks Trish, we hope you and your family had a great stay, and that you come again soon.

We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving week.  It is quite busy this week at the Outer Banks with lots of vacationers as well as property owners are here this week to enjoy our vacation rental properties.   This is a wonderful time of the year to be on the Outer Banks with lots of fall activities and mild weather.

Wherever this week takes you, we hope you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving.   A great opportunity for us all to pause from our busy lives and give thanks for the many blessings bestowed on us.  Happy Thanksgiving!

All the best from the beach.

Eclipse Day: Memory Monday August 21, 2017.

Greetings from a beautiful day here on the Outer Banks.  Like you we are engulfed with Eclipse fever here today as it is predicted that we will get 90% totality of the event at approximately 2:45 PM today.

This is sure to be a real Memory Monday here at Outer Banks Blue.

Speaking of which we bring you this week’s Memory Monday photo submission which comes to us from Todd Brown of Norfolk, Virginia who stayed with us at the Kill Devil Hills property known as “Shades of Blue.”

Nothing better than kicking your feet up and relaxing on the beach.  Unless it happens to be on the one day that a total eclipse will take place!   There are several events around the Outer Banks today to commemorate this event which is the first coast to coast event of its kind in 99 years.  The largest event on the beach today seems to be at the Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head.  A big crowd is expected there.

We are told it will be another 690 years before an event like this happens again so kick back like Mr. Brown did, put on your Eclipse glasses, and enjoy!

All the best from the beach!

Sunrise on the OBX: Memory Monday December 14, 2015.

Sunrise on the OBX

Each week we look forward to sharing with you photo memories of our guests on Mondays.  We call it “Memory Monday,” and this week we share a photo from one of our guests at Outer Banks Blue from this past summer from Kill Devil Hills.

Sherry Seymour of Lansdale, Pennsylvania is the person that supplied this great photo.  The comment that comes to mind is “whoever says sunsets are beautiful may have never seen a sunrise on the Outer Banks.”

Sherry says this was her morning view every morning from “Shades of Blue

Thanks for your photo submission Sherry.  We look forward to serving you again soon!

All the best from the beach!
