The Calm after the Outer Banks Storm

This week's Memory Monday photo submission comes to us from Kirsten Gunsolus of Ashburn, Virginia who stayed with Outer Banks Blue this past September in the property "It's a Shore Thing." Kirsten shared with us these great photos of the Outer Banks version of nature right after Hurricane Irene passed through the area.

Kirsten tells us "Every year for the past 4 years, a group of friends and I (from Northern VA/Dulles area) have been coming to OBX (Duck/Corolla) and renting a house through Outer Banks Blue the week of Labor Day....this past year, we weren't sure if we were going to be able to come because of Hurricane Irene. Fortunately, Duck wasn't hit as hard as the southern part of the island, so the house we were staying in "Its a Shore Thing" was OK and we were able to come just a few days after the roads had reopened. The pics that I sent you were of some of the wood that had washed up on the beach during the storm (we saw trucks during the week driving up and down the beach picking up the wood as quickly as they could)...and the other picture was just "the calm AFTER The storm".....as always, we had an amazing time, and look forward to visiting again this year!"

Thanks Kristen for sharing your memories, and we look forward to serving you again soon!

All the best from the beach!
