2026 Event Postponed



The OBX Plunge is back for 2026! Support Special Olympics North Carolina this winter by joining the community with a jump into the Atlantic. With just $50 raised to plunge, every additional dollar helps make a meaningful difference for athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state. The 2026 plunge will take place on February 28th, at Jennette's Pier at 11:00AM. Learn more here.



February is Black History Month, making it the perfect time to explore Black history on the Outer Banks. From icons like Richard Etheridge and Virginia Tillett to historic sites such as the Jarvisburg Colored School and the Pea Island Cookhouse, this history can be experienced any time of year. Calling all runners! Sanctuary Vineyards is hosting its 9th Annual Valentine’s Day 5K, kicking off at 9 a.m. and open to all ages. Runners 21 and over will enjoy extra perks with registration, including two drink tickets, a souvenir glass, a winery gift, your choice of one bottle of red or white wine, and admission to the post-race after-party.
