Question: How Many Dogs are Allowed in Pet-Friendly Outer Banks Rentals?
Answer: At Outer Banks Blue, our dog-friendly rentals have a limit of no more than two housebroken dogs weighing up to 75 pounds each. Please keep in mind that dogs in non-pet-friendly houses are strictly forbidden and will result in eviction.
Question: Are Dogs Allowed on the Outer Banks Beaches?
Answer: The Outer Banks is a dog-friendly destination, and dogs are allowed on the beaches, but with certain restrictions. Each beach and town on the Outer Banks has different dog laws, so please refer to this page for current laws as they relate to our beaches. Some beaches allow dogs at any time of the day as long as they are leashed, and others only permit dogs during the early morning and evening hours, during peak season.
Question: Are There Trails and Hikes on the Outer Banks that Are Dog-Friendly?
Answer: Yes! We recommend heading to Nags Head Woods, the Roanoke Trail, and the Town Trail to help your dog burn off some energy. Currituck Heritage Park and Fort Raleigh National Historic Park are both great dog walking and picnicking spots with plenty of things for both of you to explore. For the dog with boundless energy, take a hike on the Duck Trail — a seven-mile path full of exciting wildlife smells.
