Welcome to Tar-Valier
A beautiful oceanside, dog-friendly, property with a fenced yard and tons of extras for the people too! Enjoy the convenience of your own golf cart (no drivers under 21 please) for easy access to the beach, or strap on a helmet and ride bikes (bring your own or rent with the $250 in-season credit) into Duck Village for shopping, water sports or just relaxing on a sound side deck with a drink.

The entire family, Fido included, will love the coastal charm and comfortable interior layout! The tower room offers incredible views from the ocean to sound to watch the sunrise and set, spend quality time with your family while enjoying the moon over the Atlantic Ocean, or just relax with a book. The kitchen is set up for the most discriminating gourmet with a gas cooktop, stainless steel appliances, and plenty of workspaces.

Indoor & Outdoor Fun
Soak up the sun watching the little ones in the pool, while those with a red back and face recover in the media/rec room with a large, wide-screen Smart TV/DVD/stereo surround sound, pool table, and wet bar. Is the rec room getting too loud? Retire to the comfortable den or privacy of your bedroom to take in a movie (all bedrooms have Roku internet TV with Netflix). The hot tub is high on the deck to provide breathtaking views of the stars while the crew relaxes, or for just the two of you to enjoy a romantic evening beneath the sky!

Additional amenity details: 
Private Pools are open starting the first weekend in May through the second weekend in October. Pool heat is not an option for this property. Pets are not allowed in pools under any circumstances. An additional fee will be charged to the leaseholder for the chemical balance, cleaning, or damage that would cause the replacement of a vinyl pool liner. Hot tubs are available year-round. The fireplace seen in the photos is non-functioning and not available for use. This property provides a $250 credit toward beach gear delivered to your rental property. *Delivery fees may apply.* Offer only good for full weeks booked with check-ins beginning between May 22, 2026 and September 6, 2026, and May 28, 2027 and September 5, 2027. Video surveillance is present in the garage to watch the golf cart while parked.
 

All Outer Banks Blue vacation rentals include bed linens, with beds made prior to your arrival for convenience. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant, and 1 hand towel and 1 bar of soap per sink. Kitchens include drying towels. We also provide a starter supply of paper towels, dishwashing detergent, and toilet paper.

1 week stay (7 adults, 5 kids). Excellent bedrooms & common areas (comfortable), Pool and hot tub both clean work well. Spacious side yard. Great location in Duck. Golf cart & private parking by the beach. Well appointed in all areas. Well maintained. Host & booking agents friendly and responsive.

Great Stay
This is a great house. 4 master bedrooms have their own bathrooms and 3 bedrooms have deck access. Fenced in yard was great for the dogs. Fence was very secure and access ran from the decks to the yard. 2 refrigerators were a bonus. Loved the tower room- the views are amazing. Roof top deck was a great place to hang out. Golf cart was probably the best thing as the house was a little far from the beach. This was great in transporting our family and stuff to and from the beach. Returning again to this house this summer.

Spring Break
A good time with our family at a good place. It was a very pleasant 8 day week. Only problem was very cool weather as temperatures were near 60 or below. We have been on the OBX many times mostly at winter break with temperatures 10-15 degrees warmer sometimes, but weather is beyond the control of anyone. We enjoyed our time together very much and Tar Valier was a good fit for us.

Christmas at the Beach
Property was as described. We spent Christmas weekend at the house with our extended family (10 people). Plenty of space for us all to spread out. Big kitchen so we could all eat meals together. The kitchen felt small and there wasn't a lot of space to store food. Short 5 minute walk to the beach. It was a very cold weekend so we didn't get a chance to use the outside decks but there was a lot of space outside to gather and enjoy the outside. Fenced in pool area and a separate fenced in yard so the dogs could run around.

Loved The House
We really enjoyed this house! It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We did have some cold showers but we’ll definitely stay here again!

What area is typically used for dogs to do their business either on or near the property? Also, is there an area close where dogs can be exercised off leash?

Answer:

There is a grassy area behind the house for the dogs to use, we just ask that you please pick up after them.  Also dogs are allowed on the beach in Duck off leash as long as they are supervised.
