Memory Monday 4/1/13

Full Moon....Blue Moon!

This week's Memory Monday Photo submission comes to us from Liz LaPolt Clark of Fort Washington, Maryland who submits this photo of a "Blue Moon."

While we know today is April 1st and there are a lot of April Fool's day jokes circulating around today, but this is really a blue moon in this photo (no alterations made!) which was taken during Liz' stay last August during their stay in "Coastal Comfort" in the Whalehead Beach area of Corolla.

Blue Moon Rising!

Now many folks know that the phrase "once in a Blue Moon" means a rare occurrence, but do you know what a Blue Moon really is?

It is a second full moon in one calendar month.  It only happens once every 2 to 3 years, and it happened last August.   We received several pictures of the "Blue Moon," but we thought this picture really captured the definition well as the sky looked as though it was blue.

Thanks Liz for your contribution to our Memory Monday contest.  We look forward to serving you again soon.

All the best from the beach!
