Outer Banks Maritime Forests

As we kick off the summer season with the arrival of Memorial Day we continue our Memory Monday photo contest with the submission of Tim Santo of Ridgewood, NJ who sends this photo from his vacation last summer. Tim and his family stayed with Outer Banks Blue in Corolla in the property "Slam Dunk."This shot is a non traditional shot of the Outer Banks, but one that should be explored. That is one of the many maritime forests that are scattered around the area. This shot of these two good looking young people is taken on the base of one of the thousands of live oaks that are the anchor vegetation in these forests. Created by years of constant winds these twisting and meandering trees are as solid as a rock. The next time you are on the Outer Banks take time to visit one of the many maritime forests and explore...All the best from the beach!
