Monteray Shores

When you enter Corolla and pass the main shopping centers, you will notice the Monteray shores Clubhouse. As impressive as the building is, Monteray Shores itself is even more impressive. Not only does this community boast a pool, as well as place to bike, kayak, crab, play tennis and more, it also offers family activities like make and take crafts, treasure hunts and turtle feedings. Beach access for Monteray Shores is found across the street at the Bonito Street access. There is a large parking area near this boarded walkway to the beach! Monteray Shores is truly a one stop vacation place for families with children of all ages.

Community Codes and Regulations:

To ensure that your stay at Monteray Shores is both enjoyable and safe, we appreciate your attention to the following:

• NO GLASS items permitted in the pool area at anytime.
• On-street parking strictly prohibited (except where marked for parking) and strictly enforced.
• Per Currituck County Ordinance and in consideration of others in the community, creating or permitting any unreasonably loud noises, including music that would disturb others, is prohibited at all times.
• Although you will find fireworks sold in retail stores, the use of any fireworks including Chinese Lanterns within Currituck County is prohibited. Anyone found using or discharging fireworks will be fined accordingly. Fines are upwards of $500.00.
• Scooter and bicycle racing is prohibited within the community.
• Please do not dock any watercraft at the community piers.
• The use of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), Golf Carts, or similar gas powered-vehicles and other unlicensed vehicles is PROHIBITED from being operated anywhere within Monteray Shores community.
• While on the beaches, please do not walk on or disturb the sand dunes. Please remove all trash and debris when leaving the beach. Currituck County Ordinance prohibits leaving any beach equipment such as chairs, cabanas, kayaks, boogie boards, game equipment or coolers on the beach overnight. Violators are subject to fines.
• Please keep your pets under control and on a leash when outside. DO NOT let your dog wander onto another property to take care of his business. Use the property that you have rented and please pick up after your pet.
• Please DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE.
• Please note your street address in the event that you need to call for emergency assistance.
  

Trash and Recycling Cart Rollout

May 1–September 30, both trash and recycling pick-up is Wednesdays and Saturdays. October 1 – April 30, pick-up of trash and recycling is Wednesdays only. All garbage must be placed in receptacles, please do not place excess bags at the curb, as they will not be picked up. Please remember to have your cans out by 7 a.m. on pick-up days!

Amenities

The Clubhouse is located at 925 S. Harbor View. Our summer hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM – 7PM and 9AM – 6PM on Saturday and Sunday. Off-season hours vary, so please call ahead to obtain hours. Our community offers bicycling, kayaking, crabbing, walking trails, swimming pools, tennis, basketball and a playground. Clubhouse amenities include X-Box Kinect, board games and puzzles, reading materials, wireless internet access areas, a children’s activity center and a fully equipped fitness center. We also offer private sound launch for small watercraft, which is available for use during Clubhouse hours only.

Parking 

Please park at the house you are renting. Parking on any street in the community or on vacant lots is prohibited. Please do not park any vehicle, watercraft or other vehicle in the boat launch parking lot or the clubhouse parking lot without first obtaining permission from the Clubhouse Manager. Any vehicle or personal watercraft found illegally parked is subject to ticketing by the Sheriff’s Department and/or towing at the owner’s expense. Monteray Shores has extra parking spaces for overflow parking on Drifting Sands near the South entrance and on Marsh Landing (off Drifting Sands) near the community pier.
