Good morning from a cool and blustery Outer Banks. Winds have been very strong for the last two days with steady northeast gales at 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts over 55 miles per hour. Schools are on a 3 hour delay today (Monday) as we hope for better days ahead and this winter storm Diego heading off the coast and away from our paradise.
We really don’t mean to be repetitive here at Everything Outer Banks, but it occurs to us, although most people don’t get up early enough to enjoy them, the majority of photos people have on their phones is a picture (or 12) of an OBX Sunrise.
Sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean is something to behold, but most folks don’t realize that sunrise also has dramatic vistas on the fresh water side of the Outer Banks as well. So we call this Memory Monday photo submission Sunrise – Sunset.
Greetings to our loyal Memory Monday followers on this, our first Memory Monday posting of 2018. After a few weeks off we are back, and better then ever with your favorite photo memories. This week’s posting is entitled Happy to arrive – Sad to leave, and is brought to us by a visitor who took a picture of the ocean view on their first day here, and then a picture of the sun rising over the ocean on the day of their departure.
Greetings on this Patriot Day 2017. For those of us old enough there is always a couple of constants about today. First we all remember where we were when we got the news, and the other is the incredible feeling of betrayal that something like the 9/11 attacks could actually happen on our soil.
Good Monday morning. It is a fabulous beginning to the week here on the Outer Banks with the temperatures in the 90’s few clouds, and a calm ocean to greet us all on this special ribbon on land off of North Carolina. We share with you today Perkins family vacation photos on our Memory Monday photo submission.
